Fixed Bridges
for Patients in the Abilene, Tuscola, Buffalo Gap, Potosi, Clyde, Breckenridge, Brownwood, and Sweetwater, TX Areas

Many dental patients with missing teeth or a broken tooth turn to the dental office of Robert R. Hawley, DDS, FACP for fixed dental bridges that are non-removable and trusted to replace missing teeth. To fill in missing teeth, fixed bridges can be created using porcelain that is fused to metal. These metal dental crowns will then be attached to the two adjacent teeth, so the artificial teeth can comfortably be placed in the gap in between.

Patients who elect to have fixed bridges inserted first need to have an impression taken and a mold created. They will then wear a temporary mold while the fixed bridge is created in a dental lab and adjusted to fit the specifications of your teeth. When the bridge is finally ready, it will be professionally inserted by Dr. Hawley and cemented for the best fit possible. Contact our Abilene, TX office today to learn more about our fixed bridges and to schedule an appointment! We are proud to provide cosmetic dentistry procedures to patients throughout Tuscola, Buffalo Gap, Potosi, Clyde, Breckenridge, Brownwood, Sweetwater, TX, and the surrounding areas.

Fixed bridges are a popular choice for dental patients who have missing teeth. The fixed bridge will be secured to the two teeth around your missing teeth and remain sturdy for proper chewing and speaking. Fixed dentures will not last forever, but you can count on them to work successfully for several years before they may need to be recemented or completely replaced.

Your fixed bridge will require at least two visits to be completed. This requires the anchoring teeth to be readied for the fixed bridge by removing a portion of enamel, so a crown can be added. We will then take a mold and send it to our laboratory to be used to create the bridge. While this is being made, a temporary bridge will be worn. When you come back, we will remove the temporary bridge and place the permanent one. We will check it for comfort and fit, adjusting the bridge if we need to. Eventually, we will have you come back after you’ve worn the bridge for a while to permanently cement it.
